HOPE Study

 

NEW TREATMENT FOR PEOPLE WITH CHRONIC PAIN

HOPE is a research study designed to find out if a new treatment can help people prescribed medications for opioid use disorder build pain coping skills that may lead to a better quality of life.


You may be able to join if you:

  • Have been prescribed the same dose of buprenorphine for at least 1 month
  • Are aged 18 years or older
  • Have had chronic pain for at least 6 months
  • Are enrolled as a patient at one of the study's participating clinics in New Mexico (e.g., University of New Mexico Addiction and Substance Abuse Program, Turquoise Lodge Hospital) or in Michigan (e.g., University of Michigan Healthcare System, Meridian Health Services, etc.).

Taking part in HOPE is voluntary and will not affect your access to health care or benefits.

THRIVE Study

 

NEW TREATMENT FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO REDUCE OR STOP DRINKING

The purpose of the THRIVE Study is to learn if telehealth delivered group programs help individuals reduce or stop drinking and improve their quality of life by building skills and supporting long term recovery from alcohol problems.

 You may be able to join if you:

  • Are aged 18 years or older
  • Received alcohol treatment, made a self-change attempt to reduce or stop drinking in the past 3 months, or you are interested in reducing or stopping drinking
  • Are willing to use a personal smartphone/tablet that is connected to the internet, or being willing to use a study-provided tablet
  • Live in the U.S. and have access to a valid U.S. mailing address.
