DWI prevention

  • Randall Starling

Driving While Intoxicated is a long-standing problem in New Mexico, as well as the U.S. Over the years, we have engaged in a wide variety of research efforts aimed at a better understanding of intoxicated driving and intervention efforts aimed at reducing it. These efforts have included randomized field evaluations of: (a) effectiveness of MADD Victim Impact panels on reducing drunk driving recidivism, (b) an innovative incarceration and treatment program for first time DWI offenders, and (c) research investigations on drunk driving policy compliance in sentencing offenders. We are committed to high quality scientific research and evaluation of DWI reduction efforts at CASAA.
