This award from the RWJ Foundation provides support for Dr. Miller to pursue innovative extensions of his work. Four projects are planned for implementation: (1) a think-tank conference to foster innovations in substance abuse treatment, (2) development of models for substance abuse intervention in primary health care clinics, (3) a meta-analysis of research on motivational interviewing, and (4) development and testing of a spiritual direction program to be used in conjunction with substance abuse treatment.
