The Diné Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (DCSAT) grant was just completed. This program was an evaluation of traditional and modern therapy for substance abuse performed on the Navajo Reservation as part of the Rural, Remote, and Culturally Distinct Population initiative funded by DCSAT. Final reports with massive amounts of data regarding Navajo clients, the program, the efficacy of sweat lodge therapy for treatment of alcohol problems, the prevalence of substance use in the general Navajo population, and a number of other issues have been drafted. In the coming years we will draw on these data for some publications as the Navajo tribal IRB permits.
